I just wanted to post a few statistics about how we are doing so far. Since February of 2008 worksheetshare.com has had:

over 16,000 page views
over 10,000 page views of worksheet pages
over 7,000 worksheet have been downloaded

All this traffic was generated from less than 34 worksheets.

The latest worksheets that have been added deal with solving equations.

Goals:
I would say that this is pretty good progress for only having the site online for about a year and a half.
My goal is to have 10 more active users by the end of the year and over 100 worksheets to share. Sign up now and join the fun.

There was an error in the activation link that was email out when a new user registered. That has been fixed. I'm looking forward to adding more users and resources to the system.

Finally after many hours of coding the new version has been deployed. The main goal behind the changes was to restructure the system so that it would be easier to maintain and make the site run more efficiently.

Updates:

Cleaner links
Better authentication
More accurate page title tags
More accurate page descriptions/summary to be used by search engines

New feature:

Extra ads for popular worksheets
Display more information about worksheets

I thought I would post an entry since progress is being made with the new version of the worksheetshare website. The changes are mostly in the backend to make it easier for me to manage. I'm getting pretty close to getting all of the bugs worked out that I can find. Next I'll just need to determine the quickest way to redirect all of the old URL's to the new one's with out messing up my Google rankings.

I'm please to have several users signed up so far after only being online for a little over a month. Also the page views has continued to rise each week. Here is a graph of the page view over the past 6 weeks.
Page views for this last week were 224 from 54 visits.

New Version on the way

I've been working on a new version and have it almost ready. Most of the changes will only affect the management of the site and not the structure or current layout.

If you have any suggestions for how to improve the site please let me know.

Layout Correction

Unfortunately I overlooked a CSS problem with IE 6. The left menu had disappeared which would also explain why no one was visiting the pages in the menu. Thompson pointed it out to me last Sunday and I was able to get it fixed the same day. Everything should be working now. Please make sure and let me know by leaving a comment if you are having problems with anything at worksheetshare.com.

Worksheet Share.com Goes Live

After many hours of coding and debugging the beta version of WorkSheetShare.com is ready.

WorkSheetShare is a website that allows users to post worksheets that they have created and earn money from the advertising that goes with their worksheets. There are many teachers out there that have created great worksheets that they use in class, so why not share them at WorkSheetShare? This website offers teachers a way to help each other by posting free worksheets. When a worksheet is posted it is screened by other users and given a grade which helps keep the quality of the worksheets that you will find here high.

I hope to be able to fund the website through offering printed resources and ad's on the website. Don't worry I am committed to keeping the ad's as unobtrusive as possible.

To start posting worksheets simply sign up for a free account and start earning money through Google's AdSense program. By using AdSense we are hoping to keep the cost of the managing things to a minimum which will allow us to focus on improving the website not playing with your money.
